    Lucknow: Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University's (DSMNRU) department of computer science and engineering will be offering two new courses from 2024-25 academic session.The university will be offering BTech Honours in computer science engineering with artificial intelligence (AI) and data science, and computer science engineering with artificial intelligence and financial management. Also, the teachers of the department will be offering free guidance and classes to engineering and computer science students preparing for competitive examinations like GATE, NET, JRF and PSU."We decided to introduce AI and data science as knowledge of these two subjects is essential in various sectors. Be it manufacturing, healthcare, finance, engineering or others there is a growth in demand for people who have knowledge of the two," said vice-chancellor Prof Sanjay Singh.He added that plans are afoot to offer new courses like Integrated B.Tech-M.Tech and Integrated B.Tech-MBA in the future."These courses will be started with the help of industry. Also, we plan to start a research journal at the departmental level which will be registered in the University Grants Commissions (UGC) Consortium for Academic and Research Ethics (CARE) list," he said.
