My Roomba Is My BFF — And It's 40% Off Right Now!

The best partner I have ever had is my Roomba.

Sure, there are advantages to human boyfriends. They can reach high shelves, laugh at your jokes, refill your wine glass. But the best relationship I have right now is with a different member of my household. It's with my iRobot Roomba, which sucks in the best way possible.

Roomba even returns to its charging cradle between cleanings. So dutiful!

It sucks up dust. It sucks up crumbs. It sucks up strewn kitty litter and tiny bits of Cheerios left over from breakfasts eaten long ago. And it does all this without any involvement from me — I don't have to ask, I don't have to stand up, I don't have to lift a finger. I don't even have to be home! Every day at the appointed time, my darling Roomba self-motivates, does its task, then quietly returns to its dock. It is my best friend, my support system, my love. It senses my needs and happily fulfills them.

Right now, the incredible iRobot Model 671 Roomba is on sale for $210 (was $350) — thank you, Amazon. I urge you to drop what you're doing and take advantage. Not only will this machine change your life, it may change your outlook on the world. And if your family unit experiences any ongoing tension about keeping the house clean (Hello? Whose doesn't?), your Roomba will reduce this tension by a fair percentage. Because when your floors are maintained, everything else feels a lot easier to handle.

A two for one! This fan-favorite vacuum cleans carpets and hardwood floors. (Photo: Amazon)

This Roomba 671 is Wi-Fi connected, which means you can start the cleaning process with just a touch of a button on your smartphone. All you need is the iRobot Home App, and you can schedule your vacuum for anytime wherever you are. Also included with Wi-Fi is Alexa compatibility. Ask Alexa to start, stop or dock your Roomba, and it'll do just that!

Picture clean floors without having to lift a finger. Can you even imagine? In case you're unfamiliar with the technology, the Roomba has sensors that map its surroundings (including cliff sensors that keep it from toppling down a set of stairs). This allows it to zip around an entire floor of your home removing allergens, pet hair and the detritus of daily life.

And when the Roomba is running low on battery from all that work, it automatically docks itself to recharge.

Admittedly the Roomba is an investment — but for me it's been more than worth it for my household. Consider pulling the trigger on this sale — it's the lowest price I've yet to see. But hurry, because a deal this good won't last!

When the dust bunnies in your home are getting large enough to adopt as pets (and yes, I'm talking about my own living quarters at this point), maybe it's time to stop promising yourself you'll clean up "one day" and get yourself a robot vacuum. Admittedly, they're not inexpensive, so it's a good idea to take advantage of sales when they come along. Luckily, there's currently a great one on iRobot's Roomba j7, which is available at Woot for $169.99 ($430 off) until May 12th at 1AM ET, or while supplies last.

With the best AI-powered obstacle avoidance, excellent navigation skills, and superior cleaning power, the Roomba j7 remains a great budget-friendly bot. It can be a bit rough with furniture, but it is aggressive at getting your floor clean.

The Roomba j7 — previously our No. 1 robot vacuum pick — is basically a simpler version of the j7 Plus (that adds an auto-empty base) and the Combo j7 Plus (which includes some new sensors, a bigger battery, and the ability to mop). That being said, if you're looking for something at a reasonable price to clean up your space, this is a good gadget to consider. What is included is intelligent smart mapping so you can control when each room is cleaned and the ability to avoid obstacles (so you don't have to clean up in order to clean up), including pet waste. It also works with your chosen voice assistant, so you can request it to take care of, say, all the cereal that your toddler just pushed onto the floor. Not a bad way to keep those dust bunnies from taking over.
